The images of enlightened beings in Tibetan Buddhism are as rich as our own imagination can go. All images exist with our own minds and if we focus on them, as if we were looking for a long period of time at the mirror, our perception shifts. If we practice such contemplation with the right effort and motivation, it can be a path for liberation.

Mandala of Compassion
.
The most beloved and recited mantras in Buddhism is the mantra of compassion ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ "om mani padme hum”. This ancient Tibetan mantra, repeated from countless enlightened lips, from far away yogis, from Buddhist lamas and practitioners all over the world is also displayed in a beautiful and simple lotus mandala with the 6 syllables in Tibetan script that visually portrays the mantra in harmony to support contemplative meditation and focus.
In this short course we will learn the meaning of each mantric syllable, contemplate and generate the vision to raise compassion in our hearts with the support of drawing and coloring in the traditional way.
We will learn the geometric measurements of the mandala using compass and ruler. The exercise of drawing sacred geometry help us to be present and devoted and its structure enables anyone to draw, even those with no experience in drawing.
After creating the mandala and outlining the syllables we will color it learning about the symbolism of each of the colors. We will color with pencil as it is the most simple way to color it, but everyone is welcome to use other materials as well.
By the end of the this course students will both know more about the most famous Buddhist mantra in Tibet and will have a beautiful and harmonious art made out of devotion for your daily inspiration.
All are welcome, no prior experience in art or Buddhism is required.

Mandala of the Five Wisdom Dakinis
.
There is a yearning inside all of us to feel complete and coherent, to embrace in harmony all the aspects of who we are in this always-in-motion life.
A mandala, which means circle in Sanskrit is found across many cultures. Though they can be portrayed in different ways, what they all have in common is the representation of the wholeness in one glimpse. Nature is always teaching us about the mandala - when we cut a fruit and see how the seeds of an apple are displayed, the perfection of a honey comb, the roots of the trees which resemble our own capillary blood veins. We are all already part of a mandala, as magnificent as a flower which carries all the codes of the galaxy in such a “simple” and impermanent expression.
The Five Wisdom Dakinis are related to the five elements in nature on many levels: from our physicality, our mental and emotional patterns, they allow us to contemplate our potential to refine different aspects of the enlightened mind within.
Each dakini corresponds to one of the five Buddha families, in their female and dynamic aspect. Each family invites us to contemplate a specific wisdom such as the wisdom of compassion or generosity through the doorway of certain aspects of our suffering such as attachment, greed or anger, and teaching us how to transform our painful emotions into awakened states of mind and activity.
